B-day, Elmo, and 18 Hours of AZ

Wow, things have been a little crazy, but that's normal for us!
Last weekend we celebrated Grandpa's B-day with dinner and a yummy b-day cake!
On Friday, my friend Jacki and I decided to take the kids to the Sesame Street Live Production of "When Elmo Grows Up".  The kids loved it and are still talking about the show.

Then on Saturday I flew to AZ (my last adventure until the little lady makes an appearance-I'm not allowed to fly anymore) to go to my Aunt Lori's Bridal Shower since I won't be able to go to her wedding, due to the little lady's future arrival.  My flight was cancelled so I ended up getting in late and only having 18 hours in AZ- bummer, but SOOOOOO worth it!!

My cousin's Abby and Emmalee
Aunt Diane and my cousin's wife Carolina
My Aunt Barb threw the shower and did the most amazing job.  She had wonderful things to say about Lori using each letter in her name.

The happy couple- Lori and Stephen
The Heyman clan!!
I had such a wonderful time.  One of the best things was talking with all of my family that I haven't seen in awhile.  Gosh, I miss them.  I also LOVED staying up late and chatting with my Aunt Barb until my eyes couldn't stay open.  I am one blessed chica!!

At least we are dancing to "Umbrella- ella-ella"

A week ago we went on a little hike, flew kites, went to the park, and wore shorts, but not now, it's SNOWING again and I've had enough. I got a call from my parents today saying they were at the beach and ran into my friends. They gave the phone to my friend Steve, who proceeded to tell me about the dolphins they just saw, how it's about 85, and they're lovin' it!! Doug is even on a plane, as a type, to Carlsbad for a week of training, not so fun, but will also be enjoying the CA weather- ugh!!!
Last Saturday

Well, at least Jaden and I are dancing to "Umbrella-ella-ella" since it is snowing- AGAIN!

If you missed last night's episode, do whatever it takes to watch it. It will be worth it!!

I really missed these guys!

Seriously, why the texts??

What is the deal??  When I lived and taught in UT, I had an 801 cell phone number.  I've moved away (over 4 years ago) and just haven't changed it.  I mean why, when everyone knows it and there's no long distance charges, etc.  Well, I get texts all the time about the "hottest" parties going on in Provo.  Now is that hilarious or what!  How do they have my number??  Well, if any of you are interested there's a huge General Conference Dance Party this weekend.  Email me and I'll give you the info.  I'm sure there will be hot Return Missionaries- wink wink!

10 Moms in the City

That's right, 10 Moms: 2 pregnant and 2 with babies and we still had more fun than I ever thought possible. It was unreal thanks to our host Mehrsa. Just thinking of our Freshman Year at BYU in John Hall back in 1996, I never thought we would all get together to celebrate turning the big 3-0!! Why didn't we do this sooner??

Top Row: Amberli (Boston), Johanna (Florida), Me (Colorado), Tiffany (Maryland), Megan (Philly), Melissa (Utah), Jenny (Minnesota)
Bottom Row: Mehrsa (NYC), Trisha (Arizona), and Amy (Texas)

Doing a little shopping in the city!

Just finishing dinner at the Tavern on the Green

Amy, Trisha, and I got to NYC a day early and did a little exploring together!

Our "real" loot which we worked very hard for!!

Getting a little crazy with a Snapple!

Time Square

This is why we LOVE Tiff!!

What made the trip even more fun was getting to spend a day with my sister Cara in the city. She was leaving for a cruise to Bermuda (sooooo jealous) which just happened to be the same time I was in NYC. We had so much fun spending a packed 24 hours together!

Girlies: Thank you, thank you, thank you for the most memorable trip. Our late night talks were sooo worth the lack of sleep and bags under my eyes. I learned so much from each of you and I have come home as a better wife, mother, and friend. Walking the streets of NYC together was worth the very sore feet- Amy thanks for the incredible foot rubs. You really are a Podiatrist's wife. I love you girls to death and can't wait for our next adventure!

New York, New York

I leave tomorrow morning and I can't wait!!  I'm meeting 10 of my girlfriends from my freshman year at BYU for some fun in the city!!  We're all turning 30 this year, so we thought what a better way to celebrate!!  I should be packing, but of course I'm stalling and finding anything to do instead of packing. . . organizing bills, going through my old receipts, cleaning, blogging, you know, the NORMAL!!

I leave tomorrow morning EARLY, I better get going!

Easter 2008

We had a great Easter celebrating at our house and then with Doug's parents.

Jaden loved coloring Easter eggs!
He had a hard time finding his hidden basket, but once it was found he was excited for his yummy treats!
His favorite was his new skateboard.  I know, the Easter Bunny is a little crazy giving a 2 1/2 year old a skateboard, but he LOVES it!  He sleeps with it EVERY night!
Mom and her Boy!

He looked soooo handsome in his tie.  He wanted to be just like Dad!
Grandma and Grandpa
His 3rd set of golf clubs- he has either broken all the others or turned them into guns.  He has to sleep with one of those too.

From the Chapped Lips to the 80's Mamas

Yeah, I'm in another "band", but don't worry, I'll save you the actual performance.  Before we left for Calgary, our ward had an 80's Party and I was in an Air Band with 6 other 80's Mamas and 1 80's Papa.

Aren't we a HOT family!  Doug and Jaden went 80's Preppy with pegged pants, polos, sweaters, and loafers with no socks- too funny!

The 80's Mamas!!  Oh don't worry, 3 of us are pregnant- pretty HOT!
We did take 1st Place- we were up against 2 other bands, so it was close :)

Back in the States

We're home!! We had such a whirlwind adventure to say the least! We literally decided to drive to Calgary at 6PM and it was the BEST decision we could have made! It was soooooo worth all the driving to be with Dave, Lisa, Audrey, and Carter! Memories, memories, memories!!!
We love you guys more than anything!!

Dave and Lisa spoiled us and took us to a very yummy dinner at The Keg, minus the kiddos!!

Once again, Captain Underpants!

Silly Faces!!

The boys all took the C-Train to go to the Auto Show Downtown

We were lucky enough to go to Audrey's Breakfast Birthday Bash! Lisa did the most amazing job and I thought it was such a clever idea! All the kids came dressed in their PJs with their stuffed animal. They had sugar cereal- Audrey's favorite, pancakes, donuts, chocolate milk, etc. After breakfast they played Pin the Food on the Breakfast Plate- soooo cute!

Then they all decorated pillow cases...

and topped things off with a Rice Krispy Cake- YUM!!
After the party we drove to British Columbia to go stay at Dave's parents "cabin".
The kids had a great time golfing around all the elk droppings!

The next day Lisa and I took the kids for an adventure, while the guys went skiing!!  Lisa was a little nervous for what I had planned.  We drove down to the lake and saw everyone ice fishing, so we decided to make our way onto the frozen lake.
I mean, if quads could be on the lake, 2 pregnant Moms and kiddos could do it too!!

Audrey fishing with her stick and Lisa still a little nervous, especially with Jaden that close to a hole!
When the guys came home we headed for the Fremont Hot Springs!  They were much needed for sore legs and pregnant bellies!  Don't worry, no babies got cooked!

Unbelievable back drop!
Doug, I love you so much!  Thanks for being such an adventurer!  We are made for each other!
