Tiny Town and the Zoo

First, I want to say, "Well done!!" to Doug for his first post!! My favorite picture was the t-shirt that said, "I support single Moms"- too funny! Hopefully we will be seeing more from Doug. He's in Park City with his buddies for a mountain biking trip. I think he has the blogging bug and will have to blog about it! Hopefully this post will be tame, since they're all married with kids, unless they make a trip to Harry O's to get their groove on!

As for Jaden and I, we have had our own adventures. Doug may have seen a lot in Sturgis, but Jaden and I have been partying at Tiny Town and the Zoo.

We went to Tiny Town for Jaden's friend Tabitha's b-day party. It's an adorable place, especially for a bunch of 2 year olds. The entire town is miniature and even has a steam engine train you can ride. It took forever to ride the train due to the rain and hail, but it was worth the wait.
Tabitha, the b-day girl!

The b-day crew

Jaden only ate the icing, one lick at a time.
Brinley ate it all up!

Today we went to the Denver Zoo with Grandma and had a great time. Jaden loved most of the animals (he would see an animal and say, "No, No" which meant it was time to move to the next one), the carousel, and the train. Thanks Grandma, for a FUN day!

STURGIS, South Dakota: PG-13 Version

Well this is officially my first post! What better way to start than after a week in Sturgis, South Dakota. We partnered with Harley Davidson for the week and sold tons of tools. I have never seen anything like it. People come from all over the country to ride their bikes through the beautiful Black Hills. I met people from every state with the exception of Connecticut. There are about 500,000 people who come every year...crazy. Needless to say I was a little out of place driving a big yellow truck and not a Hog. Here are a few of the highlights:

Hanging out with Dale Jr.

A little Mt. Rushmore Action

This was one of my favorite bikes of the week. I'm over all the chromed out bikes.

Who would have thought bikers would be so into NASCAR?!?

This was crazy. Basically it is a pit area where you can do burn outs on your bike. The idea is to do the burnout until your tire is completely destroyed. It was so loud and the smell of burnt rubber was awesome.

Hilarious!! This guy Dave (50 yrs.) was hanging out with us and totally hooked up with a 25 year old. Needless to say hilarious entertainment for the rest of us.

All the bikes lined up ready for an afternoon ride.

What's up with the tails?

Duane from American Hot Rod.

Hangin Tough on a Road King.

Classic!...only in Sturgis.

This is the bartender that my coworker was hooking up with. One of our Directors called Jason his hero. Hopefully no one from work reads this.

The beautiful Black Hills.

As Ice Cube said, "Today was a good day"

Today was a good day! Here's why. . .

1. Finally, I got to get together with my old roommate Laura who just moved here from Virginia! Her 2 kids Alexa and Dallin are absolutely adorable. I foresee making many memories with her and her family.

2. I finally weeded our front yard and backyard, after Alexa informed me how big some of our weeds were. I know, GHETTO, but come on, we've be gone!

3. After a lot of phone tag, I got to talk to Fergie- always makes my day and makes me happy. Too hilarious for words!

4. I couldn't find the remote, so I looked under the couch cushions and found some gems. From left to right: TiVo Remote (best invention this decade), mechanical pencil, toy magnifying glass, half eaten pancake (blends in with the table-dang it), orange Skittle, beaded necklace, earring, bobby pin, and the letter B. Can you say RANDOM???

5. I bought a plastic pool for $5 at the grocery store. I think it's going to be the best $5 I have ever spent.
6. Talked to Doug and he says he has some outstanding pictures for his blog debut from Sturgis, South Dakota. I can't wait!

7. The 3rd book "Eclipse" by Stephanie Meyer came out today and I'm ready to turn those pages! I heart Edward, always and forever!

Important Enought to Have It's Own POST!

This is NOT a figment of your imagination!! I have in my possession the 3rd season of Lost on DVD (which does not come to the states until, I think, 2008)!!! A friend of mine from church went to China and brought this back for me. So, who cares that Jaden won't sleep, has given me carpal tunnel from rubbing his back, and that my husband is viewing naked women's booties for the next 4 days in Sturgis, South Dakota, I have Jack to fall asleep to. Life is good!

Guys Night Out

A quick update on the toddler bed situation:

1. Thanks for all of your comments encouraging me to hang in there, except for Tiffany- 129 times having to put a child back in their bed- I would literally lose it!!

2. He's doing okay, but gets up 3-4 times yelling my name right at the door. I have to go in, put him back in his bed, and rub his back for way too long. If I stop he says, "Back, Back" and places my hand back on him. BTW, he just started crying right now after being in his bed for about 30 minutes. Is it bad if I ignore it??

3. Now, "Why is Doug in South Dakota??" you ask, he's in Sturgis at the Harley Davidson Bike Rally. He called me and told me it's the most crazy thing he has ever been to. Literally 1,000s of bikers and biker babes. Apparently many wear their leather chaps with nothing covering their booties! I think Doug will have to make his 1st blogging debut about the rally. I have told him to take lots of pictures. I'm afraid some may have to be censored!

4. Saturday night Jaden had a Guys Night Out (well, in our house) with his favorite buddy Scottie. They have soooooooo much fun together being BOYS!!

P.S. Jaden stopped crying- YEAH!!!!!!!!!

Me, Jaden, a Virus, and a Toddler Bed

So I knew things would be crazy since I was gone for about a month and the craziness has NOT stopped. It's totally my fault that Jaden rarely had naps and slept in the same room with me, so no wonder he has gotten sick and refuses to let me leave him in his crib, I mean toddler bed (I'll explain) and is determined to sleep with me.

Quick summary of the CRAZINESS we call our LIFE. . .

We got home from CA at about midnight and left for Manti, UT 2 days later for Doug's brother David's Sealing. It was a bummer because Doug had a huge work event and couldn't go. It was fun to see family and especially Joel and Monica. Jaden loved getting up and going to breakfast with Joel while Monica and I tried to catch some more ZZZZZZs.

The flowers were beautiful.

Jaden catching some much needed ZZZZs at the luncheon.

Annaleise, Monica, and Me
After the luncheon we were dying of heat, so we hit the community pool which was a GREAT pool, so if you're ever in Manti check it out. You even have a view of the temple.

Well, we got home from UT and I was off to Girl's Camp- Retro Style, after a sleepless night of Jaden crying until 3:30AM- what a beautiful sound- yeah right, I left for camp but only stayed for 1 night. It was the BEST and grooviest camp ever!

My Groovy Green Girls

Stephaine and Ann- the best camp leaders!

Wellington Lake

I got home yesterday and picked up a Jaden that kept Grandma up all night. Thanks Karen for being a trooper! I took him to the doctor and yep, he has a virus. Last night he was a wreck so I was in his room consoling him until he flipped himself out of his crib! Doug put together a toddler bed at about 1 AM and that was quite the experience getting him to stay in it. Poor Doug had to leave at 7AM to drive to South Dakota for work for a week, so now it's back to me, Jaden, a virus, and a toddler bed STAY TUNED. . .
